sushi and legumes

Greetings beautiful friends,
 
As always I hope this email finds you happy and well. Before I go any further I must apologise to Sushi our Siamese fighter fish. When rattling off the joys of suburban life complete with a bouncy teething baby and an 8-week-old kitten, I forgot to mention the other member of the Thomas clan. Sorry Sushi.
 
Speaking of Sushi, the eating type: today was the first day of my weight loss journey with guru Lisa Raleigh. I put on 24kgs(!) during my pregnancy with Cooper. Yip, those late-night-chocolate-one-stop-missions, pizza, samosas, chips and up to 2 liters of milk a day has finally caught up with me.
 
I am on a serious detox for 2 weeks. No salt, (only Himalayan salt), meat, dairy, wheat, caffeine ......... and NO alcohol - sheesh! I hope my system doesn't think this burst of sobriety has anything to do with hatching a human, at least not any time soon. One of the meals on my detox is the yummiest thing I have ever had: A few cans of different legumes, brown basmati rice and a bag of Woolies butternut soup mixed in. OH MY WORD. So good!
 

I am filled with great inspiration, determination and drive to get this weight off and keep it off. I want so badly to feel comfortable in my own clothes and skin, and to enjoy endless energy having fun with my little man.
 
After seeing how Lisa helped Darren Scott I was overcome with motivation that I CAN do this, and today is the first day of the rest of my life starting now. Wish me luck. I will keep you posted on my adventure to a better me.
