Planning ahead could save your child's life

Planning ahead for your child's futureWould you turn down the opportunity to ensure your child’s future protection?  Those who would are few and far between and Netcells is a company able to make such an opportunity a reality.

Recently, British and Italian surgeons at the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London transplanted a trachea (wind pipe) into a 10 year-old boy that was created using the child’s own stem cells.

A trachea from a donor was denuded of cells and implanted with stem cells from the boy’s bone marrow. This was then transplanted into the child and the stem cells are expected to differentiate into tracheal cells. If successful, the procedure will most likely result in a revolution in the field of regenerative medicine and lead to replacement of other organs such as larynx and oesophagus by using stem cell treatment.

Up until now there has only been the opportunity to store your baby’s umbilical cord blood stem cells but there have been recent, significant advancements in scientific technology to harness the potential of umbilical cord tissue, which is now widely accepted to be a rich source of Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs).

MSCs from Cord Tissue in particular are able to differentiate into many cells of the body (nerve, skin, blood, bone, cartilage, fat, muscle, skeleton, heart, kidney, endothelium, liver, and pancreas cells) and are therefore able to be used in the treatment of many different diseases.

As a result of these incredible advances in science, Netcells now offers parents the opportunity to store their baby’s umbilical cord tissue stem cells along with the umbilical cord blood stem cells.

Netcells offers parents the opportunity to store these precious stem cells and in doing so invest in their children’s health. With more and more research being done it could prove to be an invaluable investment.
