Prince of Persia

The setting is sixth century Persia. An evil nobleman has designs on owning the Sands of Time, a legendary gift from the gods that allows whoever owns them to stop time dead in its tracks. Their possessor also has the power to rule the world, and the villainous lord wants to use that power to enslave all of humanity.
The only person capable of defeating him and saving the world is rogue prince Dastan (Jake Gyllenhaal) who reluctantly joins forces with mysterious rival princess Tamina (Gemma Arterton) as they race against dark forces to safeguard an ancient dagger capable of releasing the Sands in an attempt to prevent them from falling into the wrong hands.
