Exclusive Books Children's Festival 2010

This year the festival not only promises fun and games but celebrations are in order for the two puppies, Spot and Otto that have been entertaining and educating pre-school children for 30 years. The highlight of the festival will be the celebration of Spot’s and Otto’s 30th birthday. Children attending the party are asked to bring along a can of dog food or a dog treat for donation to the SPCA.

Afrikaans book worms can enjoy listening to Fanie Viljoen, author of Slym en die Beker Vol geluk, while Jaco Jacobs author of Middernagfees, will entertain the crowds.

Exclusive Books believes it is vital for parents to cultivate a love of reading in children.

“To raise an avid reader is to raise a child who is confident and engaged with the diversity of life. Through the festival, we invite children across South Africa to take the opportunity to meet their favourite authors and participate in the fantasy and fun of books,” states Rene Brophy, Exclusive Books Marketing & Publicity Manager. “This valuable experience encourages our children to indulge their imagination and freedom of expression, cultivating a life-long love of reading.”
